Linda Dubbeldeman

Born in the beautiful city of Leiden, I spent my childhood years there.

I was a creative child, designing and making clothes for my Barbies, devising choreography for school's dance club and loving to draw and craft.

No idea then that 'when I grow up' would actually become an artist.....

At the age of 17 I was discovered as a fashion model and then worked for 5 years as a fashion model for many (inter)national magazines and clients.

Through a casting agency, I entered the T.V. world and spent a year acting in a popular, satirical program.

Being famous and in the spotlight I found a bizarre sensation...... I found out that this wasn't really my world.....

While I certainly also enjoyed this "showbiz" and met many inspiring and creative people, I decided to choose a life outside the spotlight and became a co-owner of a company in the music industry.

After 23 years, music around me 7 days a week, it was time for a new phase: quietly realizing my great passion and dream....

By now I was 'big' and became an artist

I intensely enjoy creating, letting my imagination run wild....

My works arise from impulsively setting up a color base. Then I turn and look at the canvas several times and see "something" appear in the colors and lines....

From here I work on, usually an abstract animal emerges and I soon get a music title to it in my mind.

My works are characterized by bright, bold use of color, harsh contrasts and the multiple "layers."...... The longer you look at it, the more figures/depths you begin to see in it.

I find it hard to pigeonhole my paintings and have decided, because of the colors, to name them as: Candy Art.
