Linda Dubbeldeman
Born in the beautiful city of Leiden, I spent my childhood years there.
I was a creative child, designing and making clothes for my Barbies, devising choreography for school's dance club and loving drawing and crafts.
No idea then that 'when I grow up' would actually become an artist.....
At the age of 17, I was discovered as a fashion model and then worked for 5 years as a fashion model for many (inter)national magazines and clients.
Through a casting agency, I entered the T.V. world and spent a year acting in a popular satirical programme.
Being famous and in the spotlight was a bizarre sensation for me...... I found out that this was not really my world.....
While I certainly also enjoyed this 'showbiz' and met many inspiring and creative people, I decided to choose a life outside the spotlight and became co-owner of a company in the music industry.
After 23 years, music around me 7 days a week, it was time for a new phase: quietly realising my great passion and dream....
I was now 'big' and became an artist
I intensely enjoy creating, letting my imagination run wild....
My works arise from impulsively setting up a colour base. I then turn and view the canvas several times and see 'something' appear in the colours and lines....
From here I work on, usually an abstract animal emerges and I soon get a music title in my mind.
My works are characterised by bright, bold use of colour, harsh contrasts and the multiple 'layers'...... The longer you look at it, the more figures/depths you start to see in it.
I find it hard to pigeonhole my paintings and have decided, because of the colours, to name them as: Candy Art.
